The Nineveh Plain Defense Fund
The Nineveh Plain Defense Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt Illinois corporation formally established in 2016. The leadership of the Nineveh Plain Protection Units called for the creation of a direct funding organization and worked with Assyrian activists to create the NPDF. Our goal is to support the well-being of the men and women who serve and protect our people and our land.
The strength of the NPU, which has been mobilized since the invasion of the Nineveh Plain in July of 2014 by the Islamic State, derives from the selfless dedication and great determination of the young soldiers who form it. Our responsibility is to those who serve and uphold the difficult tasks of defending our people, our towns, and our ability to continue living on our ancestral land.
The NPDF is responsible for supporting NPU soldiers and and the NPU’s ability to provide supplies and equipment necessary for their service. The NPDF is committed to providing these soldiers our dedication and care in an effort to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Assyrian community worldwide.
